My Taylor acoustic guitar

A lot of people have been asking me about guitars this Christmas, so I thought I’d show you the acoustic I’m using. If you’ve ever heard me talk about acoustic guitars, you know I love Taylor—I think they are the best.

The one I’m using is the 612ce 12-Fret. It has a smaller body, which makes it really easy to play, but it’s warm with a huge sound. I’d highly recommend this guitar.

  1. Undeniably beautiful, but so expensive. If you can’t stretch to a Taylor or a Martin (especially if you’re just starting out), I’ve found Tanglewood offer great value for money. Yamaha too have a great rep; they’re still considered the gold standard for student guitars…

  2. Taylors are fantastic sounding guitars. To my ears they’re the brightest – a teeny bit too bright for my taste, but I do love them still. On the “lower end” models they’re prone to dings, but this isn’t a lower end model. This guitar goes for around $3,350 which is likely out of the price range of 99% of the readers here. For those on a budget, here’s the deal – you can get a guitar that plays good and sounds OK for around $300. You can get a guitar that plays good and sounds good for around $750. You can get a guitar that plays great and sounds great for around $1,000. Beyond that you’re paying much more for small improvements in quality and tone.
