This is an ambitious effort. As with all lists, some of these will click for you, others might not. But worth looking through this, I think. Some excellent apps worth having here.
73 (mostly) free, essential apps for OS X

Nice list! I don’t want to start a “they shoulda listed x app” thread but they shoulda listed Swipes under their ToDo category. 🙂
I can’t recommend f.lux highly enough. It’s a strange app you’ll find jarring at first, but it really does help.
I like the list, but one tiny tired claim makes it all a bit… meh.
They say: “Yes, Macs can be infected by a growing number of viruses“.
No, they can’t. If they think they can, they should name just ONE active OS X virus that is or has been out there in the wild, no proof-of-concept lab stuff. And I mean „virus“ like said, no Flash exploit, no trojan that requires a user’s assistance.
I know I sound like a fanboy :), but as a matter of fact, I’d love to see proof of an honest-to-goodness OS X virus myself, just for the sake of the argument. As far as I know, if you actually consider the actual definition of „virus“, you just won’t find one for the Mac. At least not since OS X, it’s a different story for Mac OS 9 and earlier.
I’d add Subler to the list — great app for remuxing mkv to MP4 without re-encoding, so they can be played by the native player on iOS.
