Ferrari pulled real vintage cars out of storage, raced them through the streets of Rome, Rio, New York, Hong Kong, Honolulu and Monaco.
Full screen, turn up the sound. Fantastic!

I want the Blu-ray! Holy smokes, that’s the way to make an ad. It gave me chills! I have to say, having seen the movie Grand Prix in a theater when it was released (I was 11) made a similar impression.
Helps that I’ve been on some of those streets in Rio. Especially the long road along Copacabana beach. Stayed in two separate hotels along that road. Unfortunately, in the back of Honda Civic taxis. Only loonies drive themselves in Brazil.
The version from the official Shell channel is slightly higher quality (video still gets criminally smudged by YouTube’s compression, but the audio fares slightly better due to not clipping as much): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pRPMdY6hg50
Yes, but ….those cars–where’s the extra 4000 lbs of metal I get with my SUV, and the little stick figures of my family, my dog and my goldfish? How do these drivers text with all that shifting? Who can shift, anyway, what’s up with that? Do these cars read you email? And what’s up with these bright colors? Is there a cubbie for my iPhone? How do these guys go through Mickey D’s drive through? Are these things self-driving? WHY NOT?
Sheesh, watching this you might think driving is fun or something.
Well, it’s not! I know!

Apparently the ad is a number of years old.
So much good stuff, so little time to catch up on it all…
