Seven new ads highlight Apple Watch features

Apple World Today:

Apple today released seven (!) new Apple Watch ads highlighting some of the features and capabilities of the wearable. Each of the ads is just 16 seconds long and is perfect for catching the attention of TV viewers and giving them a message… before they get bored.

I’m still not completely sold on this new ad campaign. Not sure what it is but they just don’t grab my attention the way other previous efforts have.

  1. This is clearly the brainchild of an artist, likely a photographer. Hence, I am surprised you don’t like it, Shawn. To me, it does seem like the triumph of style over substance.

  2. Wow and I’m the opposite. I like these ads so much more than the previous ones. I like them because they’re short, upbeat and focus on a specific function. The others were too long and too serious.

  3. I’m with @rogifan:disqus on this. The short and to the point ads individually answer “what can the Watch do” and seeing a bunch of them together begins to help answer the question “why would I want that?”

I think the Siri + Apple Music one is pretty spot on. As I was driving to work today, I was humming a song that had been stuck in my head. A moment later, I raised my wrist, said “Hey Siri, play (song name)” and a few seconds later, it was playing on my stereo. That is exactly the kind of stuff that Apple wants people to do with the Watch, I think.

  4. Wonder when Apple will bring Siri to the Macbooks. They might be against this just like they are against touchscreens on laptops. But it will give them a strong advantage over Google.
