Everything you ever wanted to know about OS X System Preferences

Christian Zibreg, writing for iDownloadBlog, pulled together this excellent exploration of OS X System Preferences. This is one of those articles where the value lies in that one or two tips you never knew existed.

Bookmark and pass this along, especially to folks who are new to the Mac, but will become the next generation of tech support/power users.

  1. This is missing my favorite System Preferences tip, one which many Loop readers probably already know: You can jump to some System Preference panels quickly by pressing the option key and one of the function keys on the keyboard. For example, option-brightness (F1/F2) opens the Displays preferences. Option-Volumne (F10/11/12) options the Sound preferences. Option-keyboard backlight (F5/F6) opens the Keyboard preferences, and so on.

  2. Good tip. I passed this back along to Christian, pointed him to your comment, suggested he add it to his post. Thanks!
