I use cruise control all the time. It’s, of course, quite limited, but for me it relieves some strain on my right leg, and strain on my attention on watching my speed. So this looks like a significant step up.
I’m not about to get complacent, but if this can relieve that much more stress from routine braking, and if I can see around me so much better via the dash display, then this seems like it will be a huge improvement in driving.
I also love the backup camera on my 2014 Honda CR-V. You have to get used to the distortion of the wide angle lens, but it helps so much in backing out of parking places when you’re surrounded by big vehicles.
While I’m sorry for all the humans this will put out of a job, I can’t wait for this to be standard in every car.
I think this will help with traffic jams. Most are caused by folks not merging correctly. The auto drive does not have an ego, it does not have to be first. This might end the sudden stops that occur often.
