Something has to be done with drones. I’m sure that most people use common sense when operating a drone, but there are those that fly too close to airports, interfere with fire fighting efforts, and generally make a nuisance of themselves.

I’d say $2M teaches a good lesson. I don’t think the reaction will be “Thank you, may I have another…”
My friend’s son lives in Florida, wants to use drones for commercial photography, and has to get a sport pilot license if he wants to sell his photography/videography. Makes sense to me.
It’s a little ironic, though, that so much of this great new technology is being accessed by really stupid people who don’t know and seemingly don’t even care about the potential consequences of their actions.
Just think of all those trolls on the Internet having a drone! These people are all the knuckleheads that fry drones in inappropriate ways!
