I found the performance of the app switcher pretty terrible on my iPad Mini 2. Luckily, it doesn’t seem to be indicative of general performance… it’s just the app switcher.
This iPad isn’t exactly an artifact of history, either. Apple’s still selling them, and it’s not that much slower than an iPad mini 4.
I hope the launcher gets an update. It really brings down the overall experience.
Mini 2 doesn’t have a lot of memory. It’s still at 512MB.. wasn’t until Mini 3 that it got 1GB.. Thats likely the source of the issue. It’s smooth as butter on my Mini 3, iPad Air 2 and 6 Plus.
Maybe. It’s also got a lesser CPU and 4x the pixels to push around the screen. Still, they ought to be able to pull out better performance than that. Maybe 9.0.1 or 9.1.
Your mini 2 has 1gb of ram. The cpu’s no slouch either, 1.3 ghz dual core A7.
Maybe a restore is in order?
