Apple:
iPad has always offered a uniquely simple yet immersive experience. And now with its expansive 12.9-inch Retina display, nearly double the CPU performance of iPad Air 2, and refined Multi‑Touch technology, iPad Pro adds another dimension to that experience. It’s not just larger. It’s an iPad that lets you be more creative and more productive — at a whole new scale.
For me, the new iPad Pro was the biggest deal of the Apple Event and the one product I’ll be saving my next to useless loonies to try and afford. The screen size is massive, the new Pencil looks better than any stylus I’ve ever tried and, along with the processing power and new iOS 9, the Pro looks promising as a mobile photo and maybe even video editing device.
Given how much iMovie shows up on the product page, and Apple’s insistence on how well it handles 4K video, I’m not only getting one, but editing video from my Panasonic GH4 on it.
nice.
that’s all nice and good, but where’s he “pro”/”desktop-class”- software that works with the “desktop-class” cpu of the pro? imovie on iOS is a joke even a lot of casual users won’t touch, and the only “real” video editing app i’m aware of, is pinnacle studio which isn’t much better. even the casual/light versions of desktop video-editing software is lightyears ahead when it comes to functionality and usability.
demoing adobe comp, you’re serious, apple? sure, there’s pixelmator, and maybe auria and cubase, but even those are still a far cry from the “pro”ness of their desktop counterparts. where’s the final cut/logic/3d-studio/motion/… software, this tablet would need to feel “pro”.
i feel similar about apple tv as a gaming console. mfi controllers are mostly not very good and have no unified way of control. apple’s controller won’t work for any but the most casual games. and no ios-game can hold a candle to the more sophisticated & complex games on consoles. hell, even nintendo, the “king” of casual gaming, doen’t have to be frightened by that. it feels more like a “me too” device, competing with the ouya or any android set-top box.
whats this? a device announced only yesterday doesnt have enough software for it? oh nos! doom!
also: iOS iMovie is great. i like it more than OS X version, its a dream to put shorts together quickly.
