Great video proving to new drivers that they can’t do what they think they can do. As a motorcyclist, I see texting and driving all the time and it literally puts my life in danger. Anything anyone can do to prevent it is generally OK with me. Thanks to my friend Vito Mori for the link
My daughter is a sophomore at the University of Nebraska. She was telling me the other day of a new program they have called Pocket Points. You install on your phone, log into the university wifi – and it tracks whether you check your phone or not. During a class, for every 20 min you go without checking your phone, you earn a point. As you get points, you earn coupons at local businesses – Starbucks, Firehouse Subs etc. Even better, the more students in the same class that don’t check their phones, gives you the chance to earn even more points – so there is a peer pressure element to keeping your phone in your pocket.
Now if you could earn points for not using your phone while it’s going faster than 5 mph…

Sadly, no. I’ve seen it in Paris, Rome, Vancouver, New York…. Stupidity knows no geographic boundaries.
