This is one instance I so disagree. As mentioned before, this design is not completely well conceived. Machining this out of a solid block makes no sense at all when there are extruded aluminum tubes that would be cheaper and more environmentally friendly. Aircraft aluminum is not needed whatsoever. This sounds like a non-engineer driving the design and saying, “Aircraft aluminum is trendy; let’s use it. And I hear Apple machines a lot of things out of a solid block. Let’s do that too.” I can go on but …
Sorry but this is all flash. History also shows that Apple never designs ornamental stands just for their own sake. Please do not support poor engineering decisions by buying this.
