Sadly, Avid thinks that the subscription model is the way forward to do business. I disagree. For the moment, I’ll stay on PT11HD, with my HDX system. And it’s fully paid for, so I can use for free FOREVER, or until something breaks. I’m under no hope that Avid will change business models, but PT11 does everything I need. None of the “promised, yet still not delivered” features of PT 12 hold any sway with me.
I”m not a big fan of the subscription model, either. Sell me a software package that’s stable, and that I can work with for at least a couple of years. Let me know when you have something noticeably better on the way, and I’ll decide if I need to pony up for it before my new OS breaks the old version.
