xylum has to be the most beautiful Apple Watch dock to date. The minimalistic design and matte body finish that features polished chamfered edges complements any setting perfectly. Whether on a nightstand, a desk or in the living room, it fits any style. xylum’s timeless accents transcend timekeeping into a new era.
This is a beautiful looking dock/stand. I can imagine this sitting on my desk, or anywhere in the house. They are clearly going for an elegant look and they achieved that.

Funny how I was interested enough to click the link, only to see it was a kickstarter project and so, no, not gonna do it.
It may look great. But it has not been designed with proper thinking. The design is such that you can machine it out of extruded stock aluminum tubing instead of a solid cylinder/disk, thus saving significant time and material. Furthermore, aircraft grade aluminum is both unnecessary and meaningless here. Structural stiffness is not a concern. This is presumably (hopefully) anodized. Therefore, the grade of metal improves neither the aesthetics nor durability, but increases costs. Marketing trumped engineering here. Someone wanted to ride the hype of machining “out of a solid piece of aircraft grade aluminum”, even if it makes no sense whatsoever.
This is poor design. Pure and simple.
