Three tiny Apple Watch ads, with an odd app focus

Apple released three new 15 second Apple Watch ads, dedicated to Music Apps, Fitness Apps, and Travel Apps. All three are shown below.

As you watch the ads, note the particular apps highlighted in each category. For example, the Music Apps ad highlights the StubHub app. The Fitness Apps ad highlights the MLB.com app.

Odd choices. Choices that seem almost shoehorned into place.

Here are the ads. Enjoy.

  1. “Choices that seem almost shoehorned into place.” If Samsung did this, the mockery would last a week. For such a rich company with an allegedly simple product portfolio and self-proclaimed focus, Apple allow a lot of simple things to fall thru the cracks. Nothing that other companies don’t succumb to. But we just expect better from Apple.

  2. I don’t think these are that out of place – stub hub for purchasing concert tickets in a music ad makes sense. The fitness one is maybe a bit more of stretch but still makes sense. Checking MLB scores is pro sports/fitness related.

  3. Odd choices? You buy concert tickets at Stub Hub I think… and baseball is a sport, hence fitness? Gotta look hard to imagine the negative here.

  4. Come now. In no way is MLB a fitness app. Even many of the baseball players who throw less than 1000 pitches a year and never run any bases cannot qualify as fit.

  5. I’m surprised they didn’t highlight more apps. Sure, each ad only lasts 15sec but if more apps “popped”, it would’ve given them some life. As they are they, I think they come across pretty flat.
