Introducing the loudest phone on planet Earth, the “Spinal Tap!”
Kind of nice to look at but the specs are pretty low. Not much storage and slow.
The website design is horrendous. That alone makes me disinterested. But also, why??
I love my Marshall Major FX headphones, and this phone has some features that I think might appeal to musicians. But why do a full-blown phone? I think an iPod Touch type device (i.e. powerful portable pocket computer) that comes with an optimized interface and music creation focused hardware and software makes a lot more sense.
does it go to 11?
specs, schmecks – how does it ACTUALLY work? I mean i not Android fan, but …
hopefully they are better at phones? Good thing they have a ‘fall back’ business 🙂 I bet some drugged out exec decided this was a GOOD idea!
With 16 gigs of space it will need a SD card for music (Android 5 plus base apps takes ~11 gigs). In terms of how it actually works, it should run a little slower than this:
Not exactly built to be a bad ass portable DJ machine.
*droid 5 + base apps takes 11gigs – WTF – well that’s the “open” market for you… you only get ONE song – 10 minutes long – with uncompressed 192khz, 24bit audio!
0.o
The website is annoying… probably a dumb question, but is Marshall British? If so, then maybe the bad design makes sense. They can be great with cars, or even “car” shows, but they do seem to miss things (and maybe not so good with electronics). Though they should be good – or almost as good as American companies with sound reproduction (not the main/big companies mind you)… some day.
So from the odd site it is not so clear as to the specs – but yes – 16GB on the phone and “custom” apps or something.
“16GB mass storage, Micro SD card slot” – which says almost nothing – since maybe a 16GB card is included? Maybe that is the limit to the supported size of the card or who EFFING knows?
Marshall Amps is a British company. but the headphones are made by licensee, Zound Industries. They’re Swedish and the makers of Urban Ears headphones, but tests reveal the sound profile of the Marshall headphones are different indicating that they’re not just a rebrand/-package (in fact the Marshall Studio Monitors are basically acoustically-neutral, as they should be)
The loudest phone. There’s a missed opportunity.
