Brian Chesky, CEO and co-founder of Airbnb, was looking for a $150K investment to get Airbnb off the ground, all at a $1.5M valuation. That investment would have netted you a 10% stake in Airbnb, an incredible value, as it turns out.
Chesky shares these rejection emails, not to gloat, but to make this point:
Next time you have an idea and it gets rejected, I want you to think of these emails.
IDK, the big thing with any success – is there is a whole lot of SUC before the success (eXcess?). There is only so much time to go around – this is a much greater limitation on everything than money … unless we change to a time based economy (and extend lives).
It is good he did not name names. No one should drag another or put them under the bus.
