This is an Android-only demo of an unreleased product called Hound.
Watch the video, keeping the Siri experience in the back of your mind as you go. It’s not clear how this experience will translate into the wild (i.e., how much of what you see is canned, how much depends on a high speed connection to a nearby processing engine, etc.) but there’s no doubt that this is impressive as hell.
Too bad, city in which Space Needle is located is Seattle not D.C.
It looks cool, but I don’t believe most of it. Even if the natural language processing was that good, the raw data doesn’t support the restaurant query near the end. Wish it were all true, though.
Not sure I believe it, either. I did sign up to be notified of the iOS version. Even if it is very impressive when I finally try it, it may end up in the Island of Lost Apps folder where nice things go to gather dust because they just don’t integrate well enough into iOS to get a lot of use. (Sometimes that lack of integration is their fault and sometimes it is Apple’s.)
Explain that for me? What about the raw data doesn’t add up with the query?
These are probably ideal conditions but it is definitely real.
I mean the raw data is not as good as that search shows. Try a Google Maps search for Asian restraints (not even excluding some types of Asian), you won’t see results like that. In my area there’s probably 30 of them, but you’ll find 4 of them with a Google search (and about the same or less with any other search).
I’m skeptical that it understands speech spoken that fast without a lot of training. Even so, that’s impressive, though the queries are… boring (I stopped 45 seconds in, t hough, because the queries were so useless… who cares when the sun rises in Tokyo on some future date?)

That sounded artificially sped up. Waiting for confirmation that this is genuine.
I call FAKE. What server is dishing this up this fast? Over what network? Is the phone doing the processing? No. Bullshit.
I just flat out don’t believe this is real. Absolutely impossible using today’s technology for this to be real.
One of the tricks in this is how quickly the answer is spoken. This gives an artificial sense of speedy response.
