So … it converts the files, but you don’t need to worry about a converter?
I’d far rather convert and have the conversions in iTunes, not direct to my device. Because, you know, that way I can have metadata and playlists.
This sounds like an anti-feature.
I think it’s a fine solution for throw-away media files, something you just want to view or listen once and then delete, without saving to your library. The choice to buy though really highlights how much cloud streaming of media has become prevalent. Unless I’m on a really long road trip with my kid, I no longer have any use for video files saved on my iOS device and even $20 won’t justify the very limited use.

Actually, I find Air Video HD to be vastly superior to the iOS video app. And it plays everything you throw at it for $3.
