Fiat CEO meets with Tim Cook, “interested in Apple’s intervention in the car”

With regard to Apple’s Cook, he said: “He’s interested in Apple’s intervention in the car, that’s his role.” Marchionne was not more specific about Apple.

Apple is one of the few companies with the money and resources to come up with something interesting in the automobile space.

  1. I’d say that Apple is one of the few NON-CAR companies with the money and resources to come up with something interesting in the automobile space. The big difference between Apple and the existing car companies is that the car companies are willing to show us their ideas and possible products in those concept cars. Only a lucky few ever get to see that stuff the mad scientists in Apple R&D labs dream up, but never make it into production

  2. I like the word “intervention,” but probably not the way Fiat’s CEO meant it.
