Would you pay $6 to commute in a bus that looks like a cafe crossed with a Virgin America plane?
A luxury-bus startup called Leap Transit relaunched in San Francisco last week, carting passengers from the wealthy Marina district to downtown. It’s the latest company to offer a high-end alternative to public transit.
I’d do it.
I’d need a discount for monthly passes, thanks.
Would you? Or would you pay only a dollar more and just get an Uber Pool and be picked up and dropped off right at your destination. I am all for trying to improve transit, and I have nothing against having a premium option (heck in Asia and Europe many public systems have a first class upgrade for commuter trains), but given the limited footprint here, I don’t quite think this is the winning formula.
These guys will be gone by the end of the year. People from the Marina don’t take buses anywhere, and the people who take buses to the Marina aren’t going to pay $6.
