Despite continued losses, Samsung’s projected earnings are actually an improvement from the last two quarters, when sales fell 36 percent in the fourth quarter of 2014, and a whopping 60 percent in the quarter before that.
Here’s the way it’s gone for Samsung over the past few years: They shamelessly copied Apple and made a boatload of money; Apple sued the hell out them, so Samsung changed its designs thinking it had consumers locked up; They didn’t and profits began to fall dramatically when they released phones not copied from Apple; The new Galaxy S6 shamelessly copies Apple’s iPhone 6.
Samsung is hoping for two things: 1. Apple doesn’t sue the shit out of them again. 2. People are too stupid to recognize the points I listed above and will buy the piece of shit.
The thing that sort of baffles me about the whole thing is…
I see people on the internet repeating “Apple products are overpriced!”.
But the Samsung flagship phones cost the same as the Apple ones every time I check.
Many people who see “Apple products are overpriced” often enough in comment threads will believe it, regardless of what they actually find at the retail level.
Not only are people too stupid to recognize your points, but they will actively deny them or even turn them around.
And here’s the spin from the NYT’s
“The release of the S6 may help offset the stellar performance of the iPhone 6.”
“operating profit in the first three months of 2015 most likely fell about 30 percent”
Samsung Shows Signs of a Turnaround

I only see two “shits” in this piece, and for my membership money expect a few more, or at the very least a good goddamnit. Let’s have some standards, people.
Samsung’s business model relies on people (including juries) being less outraged each time they blatantly copy someone. It has worked so far.
and many of these people would also say that Dell, Sony, HP, etc… are also over priced and they would build their own computer … etc. Clearly they are the only valid opinion – that is why Apple loses soooo much money! lololololololol
and a lot of people simply do not care if they buy a “copied” phone – so long as it “works” though their idea is probably not Apple’s idea of “working”. I mean, may people barely use “phones” as phones, these days…
Hobbyists are a different, smaller group. The larger one includes gadget-fans who actually know little about how they work.
Yup. And each successive copy generation, fewer people care and care less passionately.
