The German government bought tons of these Secusmart phones for a fortune, and we now have frequent reports on how they rot away in drawers, as the people don’t use them. And even if they try to use them, they can’t talk to anybody, as the person they are calling has it in the drawer, and you can’t call people with a different phone. Great investment.
That tablet is rumored to cost North of $2k as well. Knowing that there are secure access and storage solutions for pretty much all tablets now for a fraction of the cost… I wonder who this is for.
Am I fair in seeing this as a security hodgepodge? Google/Android, Samsung/Knox, Blackberry/Secusmart, IBM/AppWrapper … So many cooks in the security kitchen, how do they avoid holes or conflicts update after update … Must be an integration nightmare.
