With the price drop to $69, I suspect more and more people are going to give Apple TV a twirl. If you are one of them, give this post a read.
Rene Ritchie, Editor-in-Chief of iMore, takes a walk through the Apple TV remote’s interface, lays out all the button combos that are, if not secret, certainly non-obvious.
If you are not a fan of having to click the next arrow to go from page to page, note the sidebar on the left. I found that made from much more efficient navigation. Even better, you can also click/tap the View All page icon at the top and get it all as one long list.
I’ve had my AppleTV for a while and some of these were new to me! Thanks for the link.
I’ve seen most of these before, but have only memorized a few. The AppleRemote is a horrible interface. Simplicity has beaten Usability into a bloody pulp!
thanks. too bad ATV3 cannot be jailbroken yet.
The Apple remote is awesome, except it is easly lost. Sometimes less is more. Of course I like the Apple remote paired with Front Row – that is the best.
Did not know about the restart combo. I always feel bad about ripping the powercord out, especially since it’s particularly hard to pull out.
I have one, but never use the remote.
I use my Harmony to control it, when it’s not just being an AirPlay receiver for a mobile device…
