Led Zeppelin concert film coming to theaters

Here’s some news from the Zeppelin camp: A film offering a bevy of Led Zeppelin live footage is coming to a movie theater near you. The movie, appropriately called Led Zeppelin, will feature Zeppelin performing several concerts that happened throughout their career and play in more than 300 U.S. cinemas March 30.

This is going to be a must-see film. I hope they make it available on iTunes because I’ll be buying it.

  1. My question is how is this movie is different from the 2003 DVD of the same name. I ripped the DVDs to iTunes ten years ago. The audio is great, the concert footage great. ….I’m just trying to figure out why this film might now be “an event” for March 30. Maybe the music is “remastered” as with other work by Page on the LP remasters? Maybe a 10th anniversary..?

  2. The great thing about this in a theater is that I won’t even have to get stoned first. The contact high I’ll pickup from the fumes coming off everyone else should be roughly akin to the one I get at the Haight Asbury Street Fair every year.

  3. I think I have seen the vast majority of Led Zeppelin concert footage. Out of all of it there is quite enough to put a full length movie together. However, even the sanctioned footage was mostly overproduced with hackneyed video effects, etc. the 2007 O2 concert was the best produced. And of course there are dozens and dozens of bad LZ concerts memorialized on the Internet forever. Though we love them, you never knew what you were going to get. They toured too much and partied hard!

  4. Is your ’03 DVD in 4:3 or 16:9?

The Song Remains the Same, is awesome…. prob better audio as well.
