Apple designer Marc Newson designed a concept car for Ford

The car was from 1999, but Marc has designed a lot of transportation vehicles. Just another interesting point.

  1. Looks like the small Models (-> DAF 46) of the company “DAF” (Netherlands) from the 60ies and 70ies. Later since 1976 it was bought and produced by Volvo (DAF 77, Volvo 323). A Girlfriend of me owned one.
DAF is also building heavy Trucks – that part is owned today by the US-company “Paccar”.

  2. I remember reading about that Newson-designed Ford. Back when I subscribed to car magazines. Fascinating, but not my cup of tea.

  3. Designing a car (the easy part, especially a concept) and actually producing a car are two separate things – I’m still a skeptic on the whole car thing.

  4. Yes, maybe a little like the Fiat 124, which, by the way, was later licensed build also in Russia under the brand “Lada”.
