Apple recently shelved their free “Single of the Week” on iTunes, but it has been replaced by a new Free on iTunes link on the iTunes Store home page.
Currently, there are 14 singles and 27 full length TV episodes. All free, all downloadable via the “Get” link.
If they’re free, there must be a reason. I don’t want any of these (particularly one free episode of a C-grade TV series or a D-grade band)
Not going to encourage me to purchase anything more from iTunes.
Apple should open up international stores worldwide. That would do more to get me purchasing music I can’t get here in the U.S. or Canada. Location music sales rules are so sad.
I will watch the free first episode of “12 Monkeys” with either amusement or disappointment.
Never seen such hatred for free samples. Did you try a free sample at Costco and find a toe in it?
Not looking a gift horse in the mouth. Thanks Apple! I’ve gotten plenty of great music for free that let me discover new artists.
Free stuff is about discovery. If you don’t like something you’ve downloaded for free, it is easy to delete it.
Still not available in small iTunes markets such as Ireland. Sigh.
Worth pointing out – especially with The Loop’s Canadian connection – that this is US iTunes store only. Not available in Canada.
Yep, I clicked on the link, it took me to the iTunes store which brought the dreaded, “Not available in your country…”
Why these barriers still exist in this day and digital age is beyond me.
