To demonstrate that hackers have no interest in suppressing speech, quashing controversy, or being intimidated by vague threats, we ask that Sony allow the hacker community to distribute “The Interview” for them on the 25th of December.

Dave linked to what he called an “update.” Yes it’s a press release, which is also an update from the FBI. Not sure how that’s considered sloppy.
was it changed? because now (1208PM PST) it says
“official FBI public update”
public update means press release, not an internal FBI memo.
