  1. I’d buy a ticket to see this. I’m in. Full disclosure: I was a huge fan of the movie when it debuted when I was like 12.

  2. I’m not sure I’m a fan of that “hybrid” dinosaur, which from the trailer hints a look akin to Super Mario’s Bowser, what with weird long horns and nails and what not.

I hoped that we’d see a slightly larger Jurassic Park that isn’t just a variation of the first three movies, i.e. “arrogant people want dinosaurs for money, but dinosaurs will teach them a lesson in humility”.

I’m sick of that narrative already. We’re talking about a well funded, sophisticated team of scientists and operations executives that have created a f—-ing high tech dinosaur park that, from the trailer, looks very successful with the crowds.

But oh no, they’ve created some hybrid monster and it’s on the lose and we should all leave the island because non-sense!

Spielberg had a saying “tthere’s a time to be a human and have an opinion, and there’s a time to sell cars”. And this one feels like we’re being sold a broken down used car with three previous owners (JP 1, 2, 3).

  3. Hmmm … It seems like they are going way over the top with this one.

My main concern is that the reason I liked the (first) movie to begin with was how realistic it tried to be, yet it appears that they aren’t even bothering with reality/plausibility here. I’d like to see them incorporate all the things we have found out about dinosaurs since the first movies instead of just running with all the original mistakes they made, and then doubling down on the mayhem. Let’s see a T-Rex with a big fleshy nose for example and some body fat.

In that sense I suppose it’s a true continuation of the series, with the first movie being the most realistic, and the rest being progressively less so with each instalment.

  4. It’s Jurassic Aliens. Minus Jeff Goldbum, Sigourney Weaver and Paul Reiser and staring Chris Pratt as Michael Biehn

…In this space everyone can hear you scream. And groan at the silly derivative elements of every aspect of the plot.

  5. Jurassic Park was fantastic film taken almost directly from the pages of a fantastic book.

Jurassic Park: The Lost World was a decent movie, taken mostly from a very good book but with a completely Hollywood ending (King Kong anyone?).

Jurassic Park III was a passable movie, however, it was mostly Hollywood utilizing only a handful of the leftover straps from the books.

There is nothing left of the books for Jurassic World, this is 100% Hollywood, I think I can see where this is going. Spielberg has been hanging out with George Lucas too long…

  6. “We have our first genetically modified hybrid.”

I half-expected that would turn out to be the character who said those words.

This already sounds like two hours of clue-hammer writing.
