Google kills Google Wallet for digital goods

Google has quietly revealed it plans to retire the Google Wallet API for digital goods on March 2, 2015. The company plans to continue supporting the sale of apps on Google Play as well as in-app payments, but users will not be able to purchase any virtual items offered on the Web through Google Wallet.

  1. Google sells wallets? Are they free?
If so, I’d like a really thin one in black snakeskin.
    While they’re still available.

  2. This was bothersome news to me. I don’t think it was used too much as a payment solution on the web, only seen it a few times, but it makes me concerned for the whole Wallet product.

  3. it’s ok, I’m sure we’ll see apple kill its Apple Pay for apps API soon, too, since you believe there’s no difference between iOS and android user spending habits.
