Apple VP Greg Joswiak talks about Apple, market share, and lessons learned

Apple VP Greg Joswiak discusses market share and lessons learned with Walt Mossberg and Ina Fried at the Code/Mobile conference. Joswiak is certainly deft here, fielding questions both thoughtful and snarky. Worth watching.

  1. Ina Fried kind of missed the point again by scoring easy points of comparing the watch to a phone. Apple’s “secret sauce” on watches is that fashion is critical to success. That’s why the Moto 360 is killing Samsung’s watches. When people start buying the Apple Watch we’ll see if they got the technology part right. Or even if they got the fashion part right.

  2. I can appreciate the snark that Mossberg and his crew brought over from WSJ when it allows them to pursue follow-up questions to bullshit answers from C-level personalities. But there are times they rely on it for quotable cheap shots in place of genuine inquiry.
