i’m sure i’m not the only person who’ll wait until they get home tonight… just to check the interwebs to see if there are any issues.
I saw the tweet and clicked update on the iPhone on my left and the iPad on my right before I clicked the link. :-p
I’ve waited before. Today I didn’t. Today I’m wearing no pants.
Up and running, with no issues thus far. Apple Pay configured, supports about 30% of my cards.
Would like to, but would also like to backup to iCloud beforehand as well. That seems to be the hiccup – backup time says “1 hour”. Ugh.
Has anyone gotten SMS Relay to work in OS X? I can turn it on in my phone, and it causes Messages to open on my Mac, but no code appears for me to enter and finalize Relay.
I had my iPhone 5 download and install the 86M update, and in the process of installing the iPhone rebooted five times. The last time, it came up with the dreaded “Connect to iTunes” graphic. iTunes told me it had to be restored, but also gave me an option to download and install a 1.7G version of iOS 8.1. Trying that now…
so your pants are missing, per Dean Lewis. 🙂
They really don’t seem to have enough bandwidth to handle these updates.
I did my phone in less than ten minutes when the update hit, then my iPad took more than 3 hours because of course, millions of people are trying to get to the download.
I saw the update was available at about 11am this morning and it downloaded and installed in minutes, maybe ten minutes at the most. I came home at about 5:30pm and updated my iPad at about 6. I didn’t look at it for an hour because I walked my dog but when I returned it was done, ready to use. I’m using it now. It is faster and definitely more responsive and the cellular connection has remained connected. Hopefully this is not temporary.
IPad 2 and an iPhone 5 by the way.
Well, it messed up my iPhone 4S. Had to restore.
Took qbout 2 hours to download iPad update. iPhone was less but I didn’t time it. iPad Mini 1, iPhone 6. Did both in iTunes.

Both are doing fine, no issues.
