Apple’s brand value

Two out of three brand companies that measure brand value put Apple in the No. 1 position.

  1. Not sure how that chart works.

Apple has 2 #1 positions and 1 #2 and is in second place.
    Google has a #3 a #2 and a #1 and is in first place.

Anyone make sense of that? What am I missing, Jim?

  2. The list is sorted by the highest overall brand value determined by either of the three companies, not by the aggregate.

  3. Yes, because the single highest estimate (obviously from those who ranked Google 1) is for Google. The chart does not show the highest overall or average ranking, nor the average brand value, but the range of brand value estimates, so the single highest estimate is in the top spot.

The real discussion would likely have to be how the ‘brand value’ of a company that sells almost nothing to consumers can be that high. I mean, if Google would charge users for the ads they serve, they would not sell any. Fandroids can be pretty weird, but not even they usually say “I only want ads from Google”…

  4. Sorry I wasn’t clear.

Apple scores 2 in first place and one in second place.

Google scores 3, 2 and 1 but comes in higher.

I may not be great at math but that seems just wrong.

    Please advise.
