Tim Cook, Apple show support at San Francisco’s Pride parade

Much respect Tim and the rest of the folks at Apple.

  1. I know, right? But after reading some of the comments it’s clear why it is still an issue. It’s getting better though.

  2. I guess its clear we’re all waiting for a time when this is not a big deal or unnecessary. But till then… party on?

  3. Ha ha, I guess. It’s just sad to think that some people can be so small minded sometimes. But maybe I am expecting too much too quickly. I’m not gay and I am making that point because I think it’s important for everyone, heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual, transgendered or whatever, to understand (?) that this is not a choice, it’s who we are. Too many commas there. Ha ha. But seriously, why do people care? I presume it must be fear of the unknown of clinging to the old ideals of what Is “right and wrong”.
What really bothers me is people wondering if Tim is gay or not. What difference does it make?

  4. Well don’t worry about those comments. The Loop doesn’t support diversity of opinions.

  5. Good on them.

It’s just unfortunate that we may now know why Tim Cook would take a personal interest (beyond a simple human decency).

I didn’t agree with the Advocate’s outings, but I could at least understand the rationale. But to be outed casually? As an aside, as it were?

Whatever someone wants to do in bed with consenting adults is just fine with me. But they have every right to keep it private.

  6. I had a comment here saying that Tim Cook and Apple employees visiting the parade was a good thing, but having T-Shirts with the Apple logo and “Pride” on them associates Apple with political causes, and that’s bad (no matter the cause).

    My comment was deleted.

  7. Oh, I see. I have never had a comment deleted. I guess we will see if this one is deleted!

  8. I don’t believe your comment was deleted. I looked at the comment list, don’t see your comment. Not sure why it is no longer there, but don’t think anyone here was offended. Want to try reposting it?

  9. Whether he is or isn’t is no ones business. It doesn’t change his ability to do his job nor does it make him an ass.

As for this notion that he did this cause he was ‘outed’, doubt it. What they did took a lot of planning and was in the works way before said situation.
