The only thing you need to read about today’s weird Google I/O keynote

The Daily Dot:

Where Google I/O keynotes of years past have included huge reveals like the Chromebook notebook line and Nexus tablet, this year’s event was different…but that didn’t stop it from being crazy in its own right.

It’s not really the “only thing you need to read” but it might just be one of the most amusing things you read about today’s Google I/O keynote.

  1. My favorite part was the literal Rube Goldberg machine on stage. Quite the anti-Apple.

  2. My favourite part? “Have we arrived on Google island yet?”

Aside from that….. Google is dooooomed. But sadly, it may be.

  3. I didn’t expect hardware so wasn’t concerned there but, as I tweeted, they clearly need to get off the teleprompter. Looking down and away from the camera is very distracting to the crowd.

They also need to rehearse way more. I don’t sweat the tech failures, it happens [even to Apple], but give me a cohesive presentation.

  4. Could you imagine the “boos” that would resonate through the auditorium if anyone from Apple said “leveraged turnkey solutions” during a keynote?
No-wonder there were so many people wandering around.

  5. No dev would ever boo at an Apple event for fear of backlash. lol

They’ve said some things devs haven’t liked in the past and they just sat their and took it.
