On Tuesday, Google Inc. officially began offering the Livestream video-sharing app in its MyGlass store. The software lets Glass wearers share what they are seeing and hearing with other Livestream account holders free of charge by using the command, “OK Glass, start broadcasting.”
Sweet holy shit! No, Google!
Hopefully it’s a short even given the abysmal battery life of Glass!
you can end the viability of Google glass by requiring that every video feed (streamed or static) must have footage of me in them.
Will be fun the first time a glasshole uses it on someone who know the law in EU.
Rights to own image & Privacy laws means very steep fines if done without authorization even in public places.
“Dont be evil” my *ss as would say Schiller
I think I like Google less every day.
I’m certain this sort of app will stop glassholes from getting beat down in public.
Funny idea: next time you see a #Glasshole out in public, sneak up behind them, slam a black burlap bag over their head, and tie-wrap it tightly around their neck. #GoodTimes
“No, that wasn’t a punch. That was just a beta.”
I’m looking forward to reading about the landslide of “Glassholes” who get their ass kicked trying to live stream from bars, restaurants and strip clubs.
“Guys, guys, some people think Glass isn’t creepy enough yet.”
I find the general response and threats to Glassholes a lot more repugnant than Glassholes themselves.
Live stream sex videos. Just wait, it will happen.
Scoble live-streaming from his shower. Shudder …
Scoble’s making some calls, but nobody’s returning them.
Physical threats, yes. Obvious tongue-in-cheek ones, actual warnings of what is going to happen in the real world, and the general response of people thinking they will have to look closely at a Glasshole’s glasses to see if they are being filmed or not — that I agree with.
This is an app developer providing this, not Google.
I get the concern though but it was inevitable someone would build a live streaming app. Aside from the weirdos who will misuse anything, this has a ton of benefit.
The new update, announced Tuesday, has improved specs and 20% battery life improvement: https://plus.google.com/+GoogleGlass/posts/1tSYsPCCsGf?cfem=1.
If you buy the newest models. The original Explorers get bupkis except maybe some slight OS optimizations that help battery life. Given how extremely warm mine was after the upgrade (complete with warning on screen), I won’t hold my breath that it will be anything usable. 30 minutes tops of streaming video and I’d guess less than that.
Yeah, they upgraded the hardware once and gave it to them for free. The new version…nope. I’m just glad I didn’t take the leap yet. I might soon as I’d love to stop holding my son and a phone just to catch him playing.
Oh dude, streaming live video will kill the battery on any device especially if shooting any quality over 720p.
That’s so 2013. Think outside the stall.
Hands-free creepitude.
