John Gruber has a nice post talking about Bloomberg’s recent “Big iPhone” story, but the part that really got me was this:
Most people keep presenting this as a “bigger is better” situation, and that Apple has thus been caught flat-footed and behind, and now with the introduction of bigger-display iPhones they’re catching up.
He’s absolutely right. The media would have you believe that Apple is playing catchup in screen size, but that’s a ridiculous assumption. Apple could have put out a larger screen iPhone any time they wanted, but they chose functionality instead of adding enormous screen for the sake of adding an enormous screen. If anything, the competitors are playing catchup in usability.
The competitors can’t make a phone as small as Apples’ with the same function and performance. That’s why they started making them bigger. Remember the Galaxy Mini? It’s was pathetic.
iPhone 6 is going to trump the performance of these large Android devices now that Apple has twice as much room to work with.
“adding enormous screen for the sake of adding an enormous screen.”
Or maybe Apple’s competitors started selling bigger screens because they’re popular with consumers, and the goal is to sell phones, which is the same exact reason that Apple would release a phone with a bigger screen?
Maybe Apple waited until they had tools ready that would allow developers to create apps that scaled to multiple screen sizes, instead of presets for iPhone and iPad?
That’s what I don’t get. The iPhone is the single most popular smart phone in the world and it has a 4″ screen. And yet, no one is telling Samsung that if they can’t make a 4″ phone they are doomed.
Yeah, it’s just another part of the phone market that Apple hasn’t been able to or wanted to address till this year. Wording it the way Jim worded the post is just making an excuse for Apple. Has Apple been hurt by the decision to not sell larger versions of their phones? Who knows, it’s hard to tell since they’ve easily been selling at record rates.
Welcome to the dichotomy, and cognitive dissonance, of Apple media coverage. The striking part is that the professionals are almost more guilty of it than the amateurs.
No, Apple is catching up in screen size, unlike what this article is trying to say. What’s ridiculous is “they chose functionality instead of adding an enormous screen,” why, because they can add both.
Apple still sucks though, and “better iPhone” is always a lie. Every iBrick is the same pathetic iTunes-dependent child with ages of lacking functionality, run by a company that bitches about Google over high usage of three year old updates WHILE GETTING FUNCTIONALITY Google already put in that year old update in THEIR LATEST OS. I can’t see how any iSheep can’t see through this apart from Apple’s brainwashing techniques.
Many people have larger screen phones and love them. I find the HTC One to be a very nice device. But, at the end of the day, it hasn’t made me switch. I don’t crate enough about screen size. Stuff appears on the screen. I can read it. I am am not overwhelmed by poorly utilized real setae. I am happy..
Here in web development land, there is a tendency that more is more. Then, when the interface is a steaming pile of junk, you realized that all that extra real estate was used to make things bigger and gaudier, not more usable.
Well, since they regularly hit supply constraints in the course of “selling at record rates.” The fact is, no—they’ve not really been hurt.
People (read: tech journalists and bloggers) seem to see the smartphone and tablet markets are zero-sum games where every device that Apple doesn’t sell is a “loss” for Apple. The fact is that Apple has been selling almost every unit of every device that they’ve wanted to make as fast as they can get them made since they introduced the original iPhone 7 years ago. Since the ecosystem as a whole is what Apple really wants to protect and nurture, they have totally different priorities than Samsung.
You’re a sad strange little man.
Smart man.
The thing that makes the catchup narrative so stupid is that in addition to 3.5 and 4-inch iPhone and iPod touch devices, Apple also offers:
… so who has the bigger screens? Who has the most choice of screens?
Please say hello for me to all your friends over at BGR, won’t you?
Yes they’ve been hurt. Android took a huge lead in marketshare and mindshare. People absolutely love larger phones. I don’t get the appeal of the Note but I know several people who swear by it and I ask people with them all the time how they like them. Not one person has ever said they didn’t like it.
If Apple had an alternative, you can guarantee some of those people would not have switched to Android.
Probably because they make one.
Yes, I’m sure consumers really give that 27-inch iMac a good hard look when they’re shopping for a new phone.
What’s really funny about this argument is Apple did not add functionality. iOS has been poorly lacking for years, hence all the adulation for WWDC 2014. Those are basic functions needed in a smartphone and 8 versions in…we get them.
So Apple chose not to when they could have, yes. Apple chose not to for the sake of functionality, {insert Jim’s laugh}.
For not buying the iBricks and being intelligent enough to see through their iTunes crap and getting an Android which clearly skips through all of that?
Indeed I am.
Nobody gives a damn about Mac OS devices. So in other words, you’ve got:
3.5 iOS
4 iOS
8 iOS
10 iOS
Meanwhile on Android…
What is popular with consumers is iPhone. The second-most popular thing with consumers is iPhone clones. The screen size has very little to do with it. The only choice consumers are making these days with phones a) iPhone, or b) iPhone clone. The iPhone clones have larger screens because it’s easier and cheaper to make larger phones, and because that gives the salesperson at the carrier store a bullet point to pretend there is some choice in the phone market.
This debate is made-up. It’s just semantics. Right now, Apple offers 11-inch and 13-inch MacBook Airs, but there is a rumor of a 12-inch MacBook Air. That is not necessarily a bigger machine — it may be the exact same body as the 11-inch MacBook Air, but it now has a 12-inch screen because they figured out a way to get rid of the bezel. That may also be what happens with iPhone 6. If you take an iPhone 5S and you get rid of the bezel, you can fit a 5-inch screen in there without significantly increasing the size of the device. So the iPhone 6 may end up with a larger screen, but still be a small phone by today’s smartphone standards. That is not at all playing catch-up with Android-based phones, which have 5-inch screens on giant phones.
Claps
Indeed. Apple just thought of that kind of functionality. And before they make people look at them, they bitch about Google before they showcase these features which were incorporated into Google’s OS long before they did.
What some people don’t know is that anybody who has Google’s OS has that basic functionality for them, and more. Meanwhile, Apple is still not letting people have features for their “security” excuses. Let them continue milking their customers for the wrong reasons.
The worst part is even though WWDC was HUGE this year…for the next few years it’ll probably be a normal iterative updates with minimal changes elsewhere.
Granted, Apple checked off a lot of must-haves this year so next year doesn’t need as much but they’ll prob send iOS users on a multiyear lull, again.
Apple is the “fast follower” in the functionality world.
Define “hurt”. Apple has routinely sold every device literally as fast as they could make them so it’s not like they could just go build a bunch more of a different form-factor easily, profitably, or conducively to customer satisfaction. As for “marketshare and mindshare” those are both pointless metrics. Apple makes most of the money from smartphones and, virtually of the money from, tablets, regardless of -share. As for those who switched because of larger Android screens, how many users switched to iPhone because of Android fragmentation and apps that look crappy on screens their graphics aren’t optimized for?
I don’t understand your point? a) it’s not relevant whether Android/Windows Phones are “iPhone clones”, b) in aggregate, they are indeed more popular than iPhones, c) the trend towards bigger screens is with consumers as well as OEMs, d) the debate is about screen size, not overall phone size, and e) none of us have any clue what these hypothesized iPhone(s) 6 will look like.
Can’t edit my post to respond to your edits since I’m a guest, but: “everyone would be ditching their iPhones for iPad minis”? Are you serious? Those products are not interchangeable; if I’m looking for a phone, I’m not even considering tablets as a viable alternative.
Unoptimized apps are on both platforms. Folks switch for a lot of reasons, those two being some as well but never fragmentation…users don’t care [it is a developer problem].
By hurt I simply meant people look at iPhones as small phones. Even iPhone users I know joke about needing baby hands for iPhone usage.
Apple lost an opportunity to sew up the market. They now have a formidable opponent in the market they cannot beat and cannot be beat by. Differentiation is key and Android did so quite early in a time when Apple could have absolutely crushed Android because it was clearly a better option [hence me owning an iPhone during those days].
And they’ll switch right back, having endured the exclusive-to-Android malware, fragmentation, over-saturated screens and antique 32bit chip phones.
Marketshare doesn’t mean squat — if you don’t believe that you haven’t been paying attention (probably too busy swapping out phones to get the latest Android OS.
Finally, Android phones cost more because the resale value is HALF that of an iPhone.
The larger iPhone 6 will crush Android.
Android has as much malware as iOS [less than 1%].
Some screens do suck…yep. Get what you pay for.
ROFLMBO @ antique chips. It is hilarious how quickly you guys get on a high horse when you get something first. 😀
I’m always on the latest Android OS without swapping phones.
Resale value doesn’t matter to most people. I know only one person [iOS, Android or otherwise] that goes the resale route for phones. But…you’re right…the resale value sucks on most Android phones. It doesn’t make Android more expensive though.
The true cost of ownership is the difference between what you paid for it and what you sold it for.
For the past five years, I’ve sold my old iPhones (out of contract) for MORE than the price of a new one. You can’t do that with a flimsy plastic Sammy phone
Meanwhile, enjoy the 32bit chip experience — you’ll have to wait on both the hardware and software to catch up to iPhone 5 speed. See AnandTech for its review on what a real high-end chip does for speed.
“They now have a formidable opponent in the market they cannot beat” My whole point about seeing the market as a zero-sum game in one sentance.
Apple doesn’t have to beat Samsung or anyone else. They just have to keep selling a lot of high-margin devices. Apple doesn’t have to “sew up the market.” They’ve got an ecosystem that is, most likely, self-sustaining, and more importantly, enough cash to control their own destiny regardless of what guys like Carl Ichan try (note: the 7-for-1 split was a subtle F-You to Wall Street). They don’t care about the, stock or smartphone, market as they’re now, more or less, insulated from its vagaries.
Ah but you’re missing my point. I never said the “had” to beat anyone. That’s not the intent of my statement. I said they could have. Huge difference.
I’m simply saying Android would have been shoved into mediocrity had they been faster to iterate but instead…Android is the functionality king. [sure respond w/ experience but I’d argue Android has the better software]
Advice to iOS users – Dump your iTunes bloated hardware while you still can. Dump your lacking iOS-operated iBrick while you still can. Because iOS is probably tier 3, while Android is first tier and class tier.
“Android has as much malware as iOS [less than 1%].” I’d enthusiastically disagree with that. No one can deny that Android has a HUGE amount of malware. According to Forbes, http://www.forbes.com/sites/gordonkelly/2014/03/24/report-97-of-mobile-malware-is-on-android-this-is-the-easy-way-you-stay-safe/, 97% of market share (see how pointless that metric is?), but almost all of that is in 3rd-party app stores. Google Play store has a lot less, thought to be around 0.1%, but even that’s way more than the iTunes App Store. Put another way, if there was really approximately 1200 malware apps on the App Store do you think the tech press and blogosphere would be talking about anything else?
It is tier 2. iOS is still, even without the upgrades coming in 8, miles ahead of anyone else [Microsoft, Blackberry, etc].
Depending on I/O tomorrow or whenever they announce Android L*, iOS may be close to tying with Android. 8 is a major upgrade closing the gap but I won’t say it is closed yet. When they let you change the launcher and default apps, they’ll be tier 1 if Android doesn’t keep the good times rolling.
The thing y’all don’t get is hardware isn’t all that to everyone. Most people don’t care if their car has the chrome package or has the best available “package” so long as it gets from A to B and has the features they need.
So great exterior with a powerful motor but manual lock doors and you can only change the radio to approved stations. [clearly sensationalistic view but it illustrates my point]
People care about the experience and smooth animations is not enough anymore, no matter how great the hardware feels.
Is there a reason you’re trolling this site? Or are you just bored?
I doubt changing the launcher and default apps will grant Apple an instant tier 1. You must not forget the likes of iTunes, a piece of bloatware, and Apple’s excuse of “security” to control how we use the iBrick, and finally how they hate jailbreak intentionally (Google on the other hand breaks root unintentionally I guess)
No, 97% of the malware targeting is against Android. That’s different than 97% infection.
Android is locked down to outside apps by default. The user has to change a setting to allow third party. Without that settings change, < 1%. Most people don’t know the setting exists or where to find it.
Is there a reason for me to come and be like the rest of iSheep like you, PRAISE IOS LIKE ITS THE BESTEST OS EVER, just because “this site”?
Wow, the intelligence of people.
It just seems utterly pointless of you to bother.
iTunes sucks, I agree. They need to ditch it for everything but music management [back to the basics] but Android customizability is what wins the day. Whether you like widgets or not [which iOS users hated the idea of until WWDC 2014; lol] or whether you ever change your launcher is beside the point.
Having options to customize your device to use Chrome vs Safari makes it personal. Changing your launcher isn’t for all users, granted, but I can’t live without Aviate: http://aviate.yahoo.com. Yahoo would port this to iOS in a hot second if they could.
My point: remove the differentiators and it truly would come down to hardware and ecosystem. I only see two differentiators in the OSes left: launchers and default apps.
And it seems just as pointless of you to bother about a random Android guy who thought that “Better iPhone” is a lie? Ugh.
As I work for this site, I have a vested interested in the comments and the people who make them.
The Loop is a place where we often disagree and have great discussions. But you’re obviously just trolling.
OK, but you originally didn’t say anything about infection. The fact is that 97% of known malware is for Android. Just another example of lies, damn lies, and statistics. Which is a lot like market share.
Funny ’cause I started to make that explicit but I didn’t think I’d have to. Clearly you knew it wasn’t infection so you were just trolling.
But it matters not…the marketshare king will always get targeted most. That doesn’t make it worse in any way unless, like Windows, you can’t stop it. 🙂
Wow, Apple fans hated widgets up until they were pseudo added into iOS in which they loved? Oh big hypocrites they are.
The differentiators between the OSes are much farther than just launchers and default apps. Some people want their file managers, and iOS hates the very idea of file managers. Some people rely on second stores such as Amazon Appstore, but Apple refuses anything to co-exist with their App Store. People want to put MP3s and MP4s straight to the iBrick, but iTunes stands in the way. People want more screen sizes, but different screen sizes will come every millennium. People want a range of prices, but Apple’s always an overpriced brand for the sake of being overpriced. The differentiators are much much much more than default apps and custom launchers.
lol…not hypocrites, just didn’t see the usefulness in them. I thought Xcode was GARBAGE until I used it and now I’m an iOS developer for 8 hours a day.
8 added a file manager. Granted, it is a cloud specific one but you get to manage your files.
Apple will NEVER allow a second store. I don’t think it is required though but you’re right…that is one they won’t match.
True on iTunes. I think the iCloud file management may resolve this for them.
I wasn’t talking hardware, just OSes. Screen sizes are a differentiator for sure. Differentiation is what caused the 5c to come out. Apple will change, no matter how slow it may happen.
Apple will never drop to mid-range or below on their prices. Even the 5c out-priced comparable Android devices but Android devices out-price iOS sometimes [HTC One, S5]. That’s not Apple’s target and that’s fine but you are right…price is one as well. Again though, I meant OSes. As long as subsidies exist, price differentiation is lessened [$200 for a 5s, $99 for 5c].
Yeah, me discussing how Apple is not 1st tier is considered “trolling”.
Says the one who oh so invested time in this site.
Wow the all security ordeal again.
If you download your apps from Google Play only, do not allow external apps to be installed, and play safe, bam, you’re just as safe as on iOS. This comes from a person who used one year of Android. In other words, play Apple on the Android ecosystem and you get no malware. Its when you get curious enough that you’ll be infected by malware, and that issue is something you should be used to avoid on Windows already.
Windows and Mac. The Android approach is exactly like OS X adding the “identified developers” setting.
Secure by default. The rope is in the corner ready for you to hang yourself. 🙂
iBrick 5 speed? As in that still outdated dual core chip? While we’re getting quad cores and might as well get an octa-core if possible?
Totally.
Even OS X now has that same sort of functionality? I can open it to malware? Yay.
Oh and there is no way you bought out of contract iPhones and their resale value was higher after a year of use. Maybe you sold them for more but that doesn’t mean they were worth more.
Ok, Pooka, you got your laugh. I bet John doesn’t even realize you’re trolling him. lol
I have put money in my pocket after selling my two year old iPhone for more than the cost of a new iPhone under a new contract. FACT.
Toxic-hellstew is more like it. Come on man, you can’t really be that dumb.
I see…
A cloud file manager is utterly useless when you need to download the files in order to work and when it only works only when you have a data stream. What if you run into an area without data stream? What if you only use Wi-Fi? Wow, Apple.
Apple allowing a second store is a dream. Good thing Google never prevented you from having as many stores as possible on a single Android device, including the lovely Amazon appstore and the might be rarely useful Samsung Apps (used it to get Asphalt 8 without Google Play saying my device is unsupported… even though it can run it.)
Oh the software. But people probably won’t look at only the software then ask for the hardware. They’d ask for both. Is it big sized and Android? Is it medium sized and iOS? etc.
I think any Android device offers much more than any iThing. That’s why I think the sometimes higher pricing might be fair unless its totally too great a price for so low a value, but you can’t complain in a market where you can pick your phone at the price you wish for.
Finally, I forgot something to add to the equation. With a recent tweet showing up in my feed saying that Apple requested music app developers to only stream music to the iBrick and not make it download, music services that aren’t iTunes are now dependable on data streams. The same that I said about iCloud could be pasted here for music.
“under contract” <— this
Ah…you got the marketing memo. Cool.
Yet again the dumb users of the internet are trolling.
To John, seriously, you’re the only guy on this site who’s ever debating seriously. And I like this. I hate douchebags who say I’m trolling. Trolling? My ass.
Thx. There are a few others though. They’re why I stick around.
So? The fact remains I put money in my pocket buying new iPhones.
Resale on iPhones is approximately twice that of Android phones of similar vintage.
Ok. I’m done with you.
That I will agree but I won’t accept a lie about putting more money than you spent on the iPhone (out of contract).
Cool…have a great evening.
No, sweetie. He has a job here.
You’re a guest. Try not to piss on the carpet.
“iTunes” on the iPhone is a small store app. I haven’t connected my iPhone to desktop iTunes in years.
“Popular with customers” is part of it, but I think that ignores how useful a larger phone is for the hardware manufacturer squeezing in more battery life.
If I get a larger iPhone, it’ll be because Apple stops selling the current size or because the battery life is so much better on the larger size that it’s worth “upgrading.” I like 4.0″ just fine.
I have no problem with you, John, but this site would be immensely better with Pooka-kun banned.
He’s working his way to just that.
I am not yet convinced that I want a bigger screen. If it is not significantly thinner, I don’t think I will like it.
Get aside, all of you.
“WOAAAAAAAAAHHH!!! POOKA HATES IOS! HE’S TROLLING!”
I bet that’s how you’re feeling that I’m not part of the mindless iSheep. Plus what did I do to deserve a lord ban according to that Stevroll, I’ll never know. After all, all what I’m doing is breaking this immensely stupid lie that is the article.
Enjoy crying kids, enjoy that your article can’t be one sided iOS praise.
Just get aside. The only reason he’s telling me “I’m trolling” is because I hate on iOS and praise Android. I don’t care if he has a job or if he’s hobo, what I know is that he wants me to make this discussion look like a one-sided praise for iOS. After all, that’s what “trolling” means to all of you. Legit discussion and unmindless praise of that OS.
After all, what have BOTH OF YOU said to counter my points? Legit points to make me convinced that Apple’s bricks are 1st tier OSes? “You’re trolling.”
What have I said? “iTunes, Apple putting its nose where it isn’t wanted in the music sector, options, file managers,” and they’re much more, and “troll” is your only counter. Please have a nice discussion and don’t be oh so desperate to make your iOS look great using cheap ways. Thank you.
The thinness game is something I really don’t like about Apple in the last few years. My 4th gen iPod touch is hard to hold, simply because they decided to make it so thin. I don’t use an iPhone, but a larger iPhone that’s much thinner will just make it harder and less comfortable to hold.
After all, what have BOTH OF YOU said to counter my points?
Points like where you use your in depth knowledge to point out that you need a network connection to access files stored on a remote server? Or the point where you still think iTunes is essential to owning an iOS device which hasn’t been true for years? Oh wait. Maybe it was the point where you claimed that the iPhone was a 3rd tier device despite all the third party data to the contrary?
If you are not trolling, why do your “points” not rise above the usual empty anti-fanboy rhetoric?
Of course you’re going to NEED that internet connection in order to access… my own data? Hah! My phones have local programs that can access not only cloud servers but my local internal and SD card at the same time. Whereas on even iOS 7 I have yet to see a file manager that could make my day easier.
iTunes is ESSENTIAL if you want to listen to music or watch video. After all, one of the people I know was unable to put in an MP3 or a video on his own phone. Why? Because he HAS to install this piece of bloatware, just to do this somewhat essential task. But the problem only doesn’t lie in this. My 80GBs 2006 iPod (now no more an iPod but a generic 80GBs hard disk) would DESTROY all the music and video I have on it if I reinstall my Windows, followed by my iTunes and just think of putting just… one MP3, due to that very oh nice synchronization iTunes offer.
And finally, my tier 3 response is in return to this:
“The larger iPhone 6 will crush Android — my contacts at the major carriers are pretty much expecting that.
Advice to Android users — dump the Tier 2 hardware while you still can.”
There’s no data with him at all, just major carriers saying they will expect that. Android still remains a 1st tier software in usage and in software, for too many reasons.
Sorry, but my points are absolutely legitimate. These points are the points driving me away from ever thinking to waste money on the worst thing a lot of money could get. Android does what iOS will always dream of, and still run those apps. If you think I’m still trolling again, well, you can go ahead and cry in a corner.
Sorry, but my points are absolutely legitimate.
Sorry, but your posts are absolutely the same empty rhetoric we have been hearing about the iPhone for going on 7 years.
These points are the points driving me away from ever thinking to waste money on the worst thing a lot of money could get.
Once this sentence is parsed, it appears that you are claiming that your opinion of iOS, supported by anecdotes from your one friend, is the reason you don’t buy iOS devices. Which is great, it’s your money. But under no circumstances is your opinion a basis from which to deride the hundreds of millions of Apple’s customers that do find immense value in Apple’s products; value that can be quantified and qualified. And the strident fanboy nature of your comments puts you squarely in the category of infants that believe hating all things Apple makes you special, what with your oh-so-precious individuality defined by your slavish devotion to a different platform.
you can go ahead and cry in a corner.
Nothing you are capable of writing could alleviate boredom, much less evoke emotion.
“Sorry, but your posts are absolutely the same empty rhetoric we have been hearing about the iPhone for going on 7 years.”
Sorry but your point that its the “same” doesn’t make my points unlegit nor empty, just because. The hell do I care if its the same you’ve heard for 7 years. Do you know why you’ve heard it for 7 years? Ugh, because Apple refuses to move on and make itself a more viable option to Android with the same features and more than Android, but its good they can’t really get the features that could grant them warranted love. After all, the same of what you said above could be plastered on nearly everything iPhone people like you spew out.
“Once this sentence is parsed, it appears that you are claiming that your opinion of iOS, supported by anecdotes from your one friend, is the reason you don’t buy iOS devices. Which is great, it’s your money. But under no circumstances is your opinion a basis from which to deride the hundreds of millions of Apple’s customers that do find immense value in Apple’s products; value that can be quantified and qualified. And the strident fanboy nature of your comments puts you squarely in the category of infants that believe hating all things Apple makes you special, what with your oh-so-precious individuality defined by your slavish devotion to a different platform.”
I like how you took my opinion to namecalling me an ‘infant’ and a slave to a platform and that Apple hating makes me special. Do I need to repeat it? Apple’s products are the worst things money could buy. Mac OS X is nearly devoid of software. My 2006 iPod is not just VERY reliable on iTunes, but dependent on it, that if I reformatted my machine and tried adding just a single mp3 to it, all of my songs will be GONE. Because of this, congratulations, that once was a music player has been downgraded to an 80GBs hard drive. I bet its the same for the iPhone. Whereas I can download things externally on Mac OS X and run them straight away, I can’t through the iPhone no matter if I had the newest model or not. IF YOU DON’T WANT TO AGREE ON THESE LEGIT POINTS, I don’t care about your opinion, or infantnaming or the hell you make. These points ARE making your Apple products inferior, and ARE driving me away from them. You’re a slave to these tactics, I’m a slave to absolutely doing the hell I want within the Android ecosystem, with Google interfering the least possible. Just like Symbian S60. Keep calling me an “infant,” and “fanboy,” its so amusing to see you so DESPERATE to make your points stand out above mine.
“Nothing you are capable of writing could alleviate boredom, much less evoke emotion.”
For me to write, I have to alleviate boredom or evoke emotion? Indeed, I shall alleviate boredom by becoming part of the mindless iSheep. I shall alleviate boredom by praising Apple all day long, saying they will crush Android, while the only piece of evidence that suggests this event, would be some idiots telling me they’re expecting that. Look, I don’t care. If my posts are boring, I don’t give a damn. You’re exciting me more by being so desperate to shove that point of yours that my legit opinions are empty rhetoric. You’re succeeding in proving me that Apple yet again can’t become better than Android. Hope I bored you because you totally deserve to be bored.
Sorry but your point that its the “same” doesn’t make my points unlegit nor empty
No, it’s the fact that they are empty that makes them empty. I am unfamiliar with “unlegit”. Perhaps you meant “ungulate”?
I like how you took my opinion to namecalling me an ‘infant’ and a slave to a platform and that Apple hating makes me special.
I like how you lurch in here with the usual quiver of infantile terms of contempt for Apple’s customers and products but you are offended at being called out as infantile. The shoe fits.
My 2006 iPod is not just VERY reliable on iTunes
I’m sorry, but are you actually going to lecture us on the current state and future state of Apple products based on a nearly 8 year old iPod?
This discussion was worth it to witness your acts of self-immolation.
For me to write, I have to alleviate boredom or evoke emotion?</b.>
You are incapable of following the train of thought started by your own comments. This is not surprising.
“No, it’s the fact that they are empty that makes them empty.”
Congratulations, idiot. Get the hell outta here if you don’t want to debate or even explain in detail why they are so “empty”. They are empty because they are empty is merely an excuse to make your points stand out. Again, you’re pleasing me, you’ve failed to show me how Apple is any better and…
“I’m sorry, but are you actually going to lecture us on the current state and future state of Apple products based on a nearly 8 year old iPod?”
Yes. Your latest iPhone suffers from the same problem as that nearly 8 year old iPod, which shows how Apple doesn’t care. Now please, if you think my thoughts are empty for the sake of empty, please, go hit your head in the wall as you totally failed to explain why they are empty.
Look, you totally fail at making your point sail any further. You don’t counter my iTunes points. All what you say is that they are empty. Explain why they’re empty? You explain they’re so because they’re just empty. And probably if I asked you more about it, I’m gonna get the same response.
You’re not just an iSheep. You’re an iParrot.
Get the hell outta here if you don’t want to debate
Debate? Are you still under the impression that your dog’s breakfast of childish insults constitutes “debate”?
You don’t counter my iTunes points.
Your iTunes “points” that have expired by virtue of the fact there are based on your 8 year old iPod? The “points” that are really just you bitching about Apple’s policies?
Your latest iPhone suffers from the same problem as that nearly 8 year old iPod
How would you know? You don’t buy Apple remember? What you know of iOS predates iOS and the rest is obviously gleaned from BGR comments. Why are you even here?
I have one of those too. I think a different shape or texture, or a case will alleviate any concern about how easy it is to hold.
“Debate? Are you still under the impression that your dog’s breakfast of childish insults constitutes “debate”?”
You’re still under the impression that I’m insulting and all that. Yes, keep living in a delusional world where I’m throwing “insults”
“Your iTunes “points” that have expired by virtue of the fact there are based on your 8 year old iPod? The “points” that are really just you bitching about Apple’s policies?”
The points that are based on my 8 year old iPod and that other iPhone are still relevant due to Apple refusing to change their policies. This is fact. Come on, get me a single article that tells me I’m wrong, or proof. You’re failing. I’m telling you again, YOU’RE FAILING. You’re just putting the made up imagination of yours that I’ve insulted, and that my points are irrelevant because they are empty, with the reason being empty is that THEY ARE EMPTY, to make my point irrelevant. You still have to bring on the BEST WAY to convince me of what you want to tell me, DEFINITIVE PROOF that puts all what I said into the trash. PROOF. Do you get it? PROOF.
“How would you know? You don’t buy Apple remember? What you know of iOS predates iOS and the rest is obviously gleaned from BGR comments. Why are you even here?”
You’re FAILING to get me DEFINITIVE PROOF to back up your claim that is “What I know of iOS predates iOS”
The reason I’m here is none of your business. Just like the reason YOU’RE HERE is none of my business. Can’t I go to websites and claim that I swayed away from these products because A, B and C, just because of fleas like you? Get the hell outta my way if all what you’re gonna do is refusing to convince me and instead telling me opinion is wrong because its wrong with no strict definitions as of why its wrong.
