I’ve never seen anything like the fights that go on over the Oxford comma.

The whole point of punctuation is to enhance readability. So why wouldn’t you use the Oxford comma since it enhances readability? To save one character?

In this I’m a traditionalist. No Oxford / serial comma.
Did you guys not read the article? He links to this same video and wrote this:
“An alternative view comes from the punk band Vampire Weekend when they ask the musical question ‘Who gives a f— about an Oxford comma?’ The answer, boys, is ‘I do.'”
I wonder at this, too. I don’t usually use the Oxford comma, but I don’t see why anyone would passionately argue AGAINST it. It’s mostly laziness on my part.
