Digital Trends:
Instead of pushing desktop lovers away, Apple has made moves to make life easier for those who reside in the world of traditional computing, and their mobile compatriots.
The more I read from early users of Yosemite, the more I’m looking forward to it.
Thank goodness, it looks like they didn’t wreck the Mac. Before the WWDC presentation, I was dreading an iOS 7 -style redesign of the Mac, but afterwards, I was actually excited to get my hands on Yosemite. This is the kind of incremental improvement that I wanted from iOS 7.
Now, I want to know why iOS 8 still looks so terrible. Whoever did the icons and other visual design for OS X Yosemite should redo iOS entirely, and it should be done before 8 ships, and then the people who did the icons and other visual design for iOS 7 should be fired. Because the look and feel of iOS 7 is well below the quality I want from the only maker of high-end phones and tablets. And it not only looks terrible, it feels terrible.
In short, it is great to see that Apple can still design software, but it shouldn’t only be applied to the Mac.
The only thing that stings me about Yosemite is that Apple ripped Photo Booth out of OS X. That app was so much fun with kids and friends. Lots of great memories saved from that little app.
Yeah, I can’t wait. Going to install on my old mbp to get an early taste.
