I love this device. I just spent two weeks away in Ireland and Scotland, and was able to keep up on the NHL playoff games, thanks to my Slingbox. The only problem is that I need another one so I can watch my cable box too.

I’m loving my 500 as well, and the most recent slingplayer for iOS update supports background airplay which is a huge improvement. I can easily pack my Apple TV for trips, and with background airplay support, I can still use my iPhone to do other tasks while watching my content on the big screen.
Does it still show up in some contorted aspect ratio on the AppleTV? It was nearly impossible to get 16:9 and 4:3 content to both look acceptable on my AppleTV when using the Slingplayer’s AirPlay feature, so I gave up on it many months ago and switched to a WDTV (which has the sling player app built-in).
The irony of what this thing does is too much for me.
I can’t speak much for 4:3 content, but 16:9 content displays perfectly via airplay. To be clear, I mean airplay streaming through the button on the in-app player, not mirroring.
