The numbers are too small for Texas Hold ‘Em
A plain back makes it too easy to mark cards, unintentionally or not.
I’m wondering what others think about the omission of the graphics in the center (which would be a great canvas for design, particularly paint cards or the ace of spades). In hold ’em, a lot of folks only peak at the corner of the card anyway, so perhaps it’s no great loss.
I agree with what John said below – a plain back is a liability. I think there are some great elements here, but I’m not sure it’s a deck I’d use.
No matter how much I look at the diamond, I only see a square turned sideways.
“I must admit, the more I look at these, the more I like them.” One of the best signs of subtly excellent design.
I looked at these when Gruber linked to them. I’m not sure I could get used to the spade being an upside-down heart.
