The point about usage is very valid. But there are two issues I have with what Miss Georgia says.
Setting up as new. She implies that you can’t ever restore and use a backup. Not true. Often the issue can be a crapped install of the update. Why is it crapped, who knows? But a restore forces a clean install and sometimes that’s all that is needed. For any bug. I will say though that my successes with this have been at a greater rate when using iCloud backups than iTunes. Perhaps because iCloud only backs up ‘important data’ where iTunes is making a full copy of everything.
She forgot one very important step after an iOS update. App updates. This is more important when doing a major update like 6 to 7 than the point ones but it still stands. If there is some compatibility issue with the tweaks in the iOS update and you haven’t loaded the now compatible version, who knows what could be happening.
