Nested folders — or folders-within-folders — were a long-standing bug that Apple conveniently ignored for some time. It was a fantastic hidden feature that I’ve personally become dependent on. Having a perfectly clean home screen with a single folder used to house all my different app categories was a dream come true, but reality has now smacked me in the face.
Hold on now. If this is a bug, why complain if it gets fixed?
A single folder, holding a whole bunch more folders, holding all his apps?
I’d hate to see his other dreams.
It’s a bug in that it did something Apple presumably didn’t want it to, but in practice it didn’t actually break anything. It was just a really really useful feature that wasn’t ever supposed to exist.

It’d be interesting to understand why you saw this as a “complaint.”

Presumably, because people relied on it, and it didn’t bother anyone.
How do you know it didn’t break anything? Maybe not for you, but did for others, that wasn’t apparent that it was related.
Maybe it did cause instability in the Springboard. Maybe it corrupted search indexes, sync, etc. We don’t know.

What everybody here doesn’t realize is their were 2 bugs that let u put folders inside folders and only 1 was fixed if you take 2 apps then make them into a folder and quickly before the folder opens up hold on to a folder and drag it in while the folder is opening. Although it’s a little less convenient it still works
