I hated it when people used to tell me I could write, not get paid, but I’d get exposure. Fuck you, exposure doesn’t feed my kids, asshole.
The dirt behind app bundles
I hated it when people used to tell me I could write, not get paid, but I’d get exposure. Fuck you, exposure doesn’t feed my kids, asshole.
the exposure argument has literally become a trope. It’s thrown out with no thought whatsoever.
example: in the ars article about Prince dropping his suit against users because the sites had finally yanked his videos, some…well, honestly, idiot said that Prince needs to understand how people posting and copying his work is a huge help to getting exposure.
Now, I want you to wrap your head around this:
Prince. Prince. Needs. Help. With. Exposure.
After reading that, I can no longer take that argument seriously, it has no meaning anymore.
didn’t know you could put food in those. #themoreyouknow

As a writer, I tip my cap to you, Jim, and I say, indeed, that shit is irksome.
Mike Monteiro nailed this one…
“Fuck you. Pay me.”
I have purchased bundles in the past. If I kept on using a program the developer probably got money from me within a year paying for upgrades. So the exposure did pay off if I purchased the upgrade. Most apps I never used after playing with them.
