I don’t see why people are so upset. This sounds like an amazing deal for both sides but, most importantly, awesome for customers and users.
It is quite simple since
you are paid Google shill, you
don’t see any problems with Google.
People bought Nest in good faith because it wasn’t google.
Do you need to go back to second grade to learn simple math and logic. so you can stop asking stupid questions.
No one bought Nest because it wasn’t Google. They bought it because it is a great product.
No question was asked and I love you too.
when im the user i prefer it when i AM the customers. that isnt google’s business model, where advertisers are the customer and i am the product.
i didnt purchase a google-branded thermostat because theyve violated my trust (see $17MM FTC settlement). for them to buy the trust i built w/ another company is disappointing. and quite pathetic — google used to be loved by all techies. ever wonder why so many of us have turned our backs on them? because theyre shady bastards now. thats sad, almost as sad as having to buy their way into my home.
your nuts — i did. had Nest been the Google Learning Thermostat theres no way in hell i would have bought it. so yes, i definitely bought it because one of my criteria (it not being google) was met.
LMBO. You’re simply not being truthful.
There was no hint of a gThermostat or anything close to it so there is zero chance you bought Nest with “well this isn’t Google” in mind. That’s asinine.
It’s like saying I bought my wife’s Tahoe because it wasn’t an Apple product. Reeeeeeeee-di-culous! [and yes I know that’s now how it is spelled]
You didn’t buy a “google-branded thermostat” because one didn’t exist.
Google didn’t get this level of hate until it competed with Apple. The the faithful spread Google hate and it has permeated the mindset of sects of the tech world. Average consumers don’t spout gibberish like I read here.
pfft…done discussing this with you. You’re going way too far on a limb for me.
