I have the original MiC and it is amazing. Recording with GarageBand for iOS on an iPhone or iPad on batteries, anytime inspiration strikes, is really, really great. Along with a great set of headphones, that is the very best songwriting studio you can use, in my opinion, because it follows you around all day in a very small and lightweight bag and is so easy to use and sounds so great and GarageBand for iOS is so transparent to use (you don’t have to think about computers or gear, only about music.) And the GarageBand files open right up in Logic on the Mac for further work and/or mixing.
