If you are not familiar with the Everly brothers, you are certainly familiar with the bands and singers upon whom they’ve had a profound influence, bands like the Beatles and Beach Boys. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986.
Here’s a very young Phil and Don Everly singing Bye, Bye, Love.
🙁
Fond memories of these boys – My band opened for them 2-3 times back in the 60s – The last time was at the Roof Garden Ballroom in Spirit Lake, IA.
Really nice/friendly, Had some great dressing room conversations post performance waiting for the crowds to disperse.
That’s incredibly awesome!
One major influence you didn’t mention was upon Graham Nash. IMO, if the Everlys hadn’t influenced Nash so heavily, we wouldn’t have one of the best musical groups ever: Crosby, Stills & Nash.
