Yes please.
Available ‘to order’?
pricing for options would be helpful…I don’t see it posted anywhere
Yeah, saw that as soon as I posted it, changed to “goes on sale”.
I looked for that, too. Have to wait til tomorrow.
Will there be demo units in stores?

Tim Cook was true to his word at WWDC 2012, “later next year”.
This would have been perfect timing, except one little problem: I did not win MegaMillions last night.
I’d just like to see one in a store, attended by an employee whose sole job is to wipe off fingerprints.
It’s funny that you say that. I was just thinking the exact opposite about the price and thinking back to when I bought a Mac II with a greyscale monitor for $5,000. Of course I was doing freelance work for graphic art at the time so even then the computer paid for itself over a short period of time. As would the Mac Pro for anyone using it for professional means. It is amazing to me how cheap, comparatively of course, computers have become.
No, you’re right, it is amazing the power you get for this price. I find it a gorgeous machine, and would love to have one, but the truth is, for what I do for a living, my 13″ MBPr is more than adequate. But it’d be fun to have an excuse to plunk $3,000+ on a Mac Pro. More fun still would be not to need an excuse.
Good point, James. My most expensive system was a PowerBook 5300ce. I remember paying $5,000+ for it, but I see it came out at $6,500. Not sure if my memory is being kind to me or I found it for less. Everything since has been substantially less. I was also doing freelance work (data processing and visualization) at the time and it paid for itself very quickly.
Ha ha, absolutely. But then I may not have room to move about in my mansion either with so many electronic devices and god knows what else strewn about. Ah, problems.. problems…
Probably not right away. Not a Christmas item for one. Also they need every unit to fill business orders.
In fact right now they might all be basically build to order. Then after they deliver on the end of the year biz sales they will mass produce etc
Those are some good points. I’ll save my trip to the apple store till after christmas!
