Samsung is said to be planning its own Apple-like retail push across the U.S., as the company recently hired an ex-Apple senior store designer, according to a new report.
Why the fuck not, they copied everything else Apple did.

How’s that working out for Microsoft? http://www.tuxwinmac.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/apple-store_microsoft-store.png
Yes, why not? They are targeting the wrong customer group with that anyways. Most people I know would buy Samsungs because they are cheaper – not because of some fancy “shopping experience”.
I don’t think this is a bad thing. All you people (Marco, John, you) all complain about how going to Bestbuy is somehow like being waterboarded can now rest easy as soon everyone will (hopefully) copy Apple’s retail strategy. Isn’t this what we all want?
I think Samsung is missing the point. Apple had great products that were not getting properly showcased in big box retailers. Apple needed their own retail stores to properly sell their great products. If Samsung opens a bunch of beautiful stores that sell their crappy products, it is not going to help them. Go ask JC Penney about transforming your stores without transforming your product line.
“Reportedly”, according to anonymous sources at a godawful “analyst” site?
I mean, it’s possible, but when people pull crap like that about Apple based on sources that thin, I don’t believe that either.
Maybe Samsung is delusional about their brand strength and popularity qua Samsung rather than as “current best not-iOS deal”… but maybe not.
They already did that

Those stores will have to offer a whole lot to compensate for charging full retail on a brand that’s not always associated with a premium product.
What a sickening thought…
There’s a Samsung store in Sydney (about 2min away from the Apple store). It’s tiny and the only people who are ever in there are Chinese tourists.
