Although the term is still whispered in cobweb-infested hallways to this day, it pretty much fell out of public favor once people realized you could affect “the fold” by simply turning your space phone sideways.
I chuckled when I read that, mostly because I spent years dealing with it. I’m glad that’s gone, but there are new ones to replace it.
Some interesting points of view, but I chuckled when reading that because of all the parts of this piece that could’ve used a proofreader. Kind of pertinent in light of the Hemingway post earlier.
Also, “above the fold” is sadly still an issue for people who don’t know how to scroll a browser window. Yes, those people exist and they still make decisions on behalf of users who actually understand how to view a Web page.
