30 Rock was a great series. So much to love about it. Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin, incredible supporting cast. The pilot, which first aired October 11, 2006, had a lot of those elements, but Rachel Dratch was jarringly miscast as Jenna Maroney. Here it is. Enjoy.

I think Rachel was all wrong though. I’m glad they recast but I do think she’s hilarious.
Dratch as Jenna is such a bad choice I have a hard time believing it’s not some kind of prank.
Rachel would’ve been perfect… as Liz Lemon! Tina, on the other hand, would’ve been ab-fab as Jenna. Tina would’ve been able to “let go” as Jenna. Imagine a Jenna that is even more over-the-top than Jane Krakowski’s, yet underscored with more self-awareness, unintended self-deprecation(?), and deeper sense or irony than Baldwin’s Donaghy.
Unfortunately, Tina wanted to play the big heroine, so we had to settle for a horribly miscast Tina as Liz Lemon….. JK!! 😛
